Each year's BIO convention is the biotech industry's largest annual gathering. BIO 2003 is expected to bring 15,000 biotechnology executives, scientists, policymakers and journalists to Washington, D.C., June 21 - 25. The primary location of convention is the new Washington Convention Center, where BIO is hosting six plenary sessions; special forums on bioethics, global health and patient advocacy; a Lecture Series with NIH directors and other science and policy leaders; 345,000 square feet of exhibit space; and 25 tracks of programming, including sessions on policy, business development, science and regulatory affairs. The convention also encompasses a two-day public HealthFest on the National Mall, a career fair, and a series of dazzling receptions at Washington landmarks.
